Hello Kitty is an animated cat that was created by Sanrio more than 30 years ago. Hello Kitty was born in Japan in 1974. The character is portrayed as a female white Japanese bobtail cat with a red bow. The first designed by Yuko Shimizu but later the responsibility for her was given to first Setsuko Yonekubo and later Yuko Yamaguchi.

November 1st, 1975, did she appear for the on her first item, a small plastic coin purse and soon other small items for young girls followed and brought to the U.S.A. in 1976. This debut came under the Sanrio company lineup, where her various products are still developed and sold.
In 1976, Setsuko Yonekubo became Hello Kitty's second chief designer. She was in turn replaced in 1980 by Yuko Yamaguchi, who remains on the helm. In 2004, Yamaguchi explained the long-standing appeal of her charge to London's Times newspaper: "Hello Kitty can wear Laura Ashley and also punk rock leather. She gets a broad audience, and she's very flexible because everything fits white." Hello kitty is a cute cat that loves especially the dark versions of hello kitty.
Hello Kitty have many various products such as video games, music, purses, stickers and pen sets to toasters, televisions, clothing, messengers bag, handbags, keychains and computer equipment etc.
Sanrio character has led to the creation of two officially licensed Hello Kitty theme parks, Harmonyland and the indoor Sanrio Puroland.
